In an interview in October 2008, Aja said that \"Piranha 3D takes place in the last few days of the Summer of '73. It was to be released in the early fall. The title of the movie was Guacamole.\" In October 2008, Aja stated \"the script is pretty much in place. We're months away from being ready to shoot. I think we're getting pretty close to being ready to start shooting. I'm just getting the okay of the studio. I think we're going to be shooting May, June, July. There's still the formalities that each country has to go through.\" In November 2008, the Hollywood Reporter announced that director Alexandre Aja had signed a deal with Warner Bros. to direct Piranha 3-D and would star in the film with Anna Faris, who will also produce the film with Richard Dreyfuss. Production was scheduled to begin in early 2009 and the film was to have a 2009 release date.
Alexandre Aja was born in Paris, France, on June 1, 1974. He achieved his education in New York, where he graduated from the High School of Performing Arts. In December 2006, a supermarket in France that sells groceries named Musqueteau was renamed after Alexandre Aja. Aja worked in the film industry by facilitating financing of commercial films. Aja had planned to make his own film around that time. In December 2006, Aja appeared in a French thriller Noir. The movie is based on a short story by Dashiell Hammett, Charlie Chan's first case. Noir was the top-grossing French movie of 2006 with $25 million at the box office.
Now, once the film begins, it is clear that the premise of an alien takeover by an engineer is similar to the Predator movies, and this makes the first half very enjoyable and suspenseful. The actors have much of the same roles in this film that they have in the first Piranha film, but this time it is better the lead in the film instead of the audience and is well-received. 7211a4ac4a
